LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville athletics department has released details of the 2014 baseball promotional schedule, which includes an array of fan-friendly special events and season-long promotions at Jim Patterson Stadium.
The 36-game home schedule at Patterson Stadium features great giveaways, the return of fan favorites and the introduction of special offers, which allow fans to experience all the ballpark's offerings at exceptional values.
The excitement will begin during the 2014 home-opener against Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 19 at 3 p.m., ET when fans can celebrate the Louisville baseball program's 97th season and the 10th season calling Patterson Stadium home. Along with the pregame festivities and introductions prior to first pitch, the first 200 fans through the gates will receive the exclusive 2014 Louisville baseball schedule poster featuring the five Cardinals seniors.
2014 Special Events
Elementary School Day: March 12 vs. Western Illinois, Noon
Hosting its fifth annual event, Louisville Baseball is excited to welcome more than 30 area schools for Elementary School Day. Combining the best of baseball and education, the day will highlight the importance of healthy eating habits and physical fitness while teaching good sportsmanship behavior. The kids will enjoy lots of activities and see the Cardinals battle Western Illinois. Click here for additional information.
Cancer Awareness Night: April 22 vs. Western Kentucky, 6 p.m.
Join Louisville Baseball for their annual Cancer Awareness Night as the Cardinals continue their commitment to generating awareness for cancer research programs. Louisville will wear special black jerseys and hats featuring pink lettering during the game and fans are encouraged to visit the information fair and booths prior to the game. Pink lemonade will be sold with $1 from every sale going to support Home Runs for Hope, a fundraiser with all of the proceeds benefiting Gilda's Club of Louisville.
Louisville Legends Game: April 25 vs. Connecticut, 6 p.m.
During this special event, Cardinals baseball will turn back the clock to celebrate its more than 100 years of baseball history by honoring great teams and alumni, our "Louisville Legends". Pregame festivities and special offerings will be included.
MLB's Pitch, Hit, & Run: April 27 vs. Connecticut, 1 p.m.
Join in Major League Baseball's Pitch, Hit & Run competition and have a chance to reach the national finals at the MLB All-Star Game. PHR is a FREE, exciting skills event for boys and girls where participants have the opportunity to compete in four levels of competition. Louisville will host a local competition for boys ages 7 to 12. The event requires pre-registration (beginning in early March) and will be conducted on the field following the UofL-UConn contest.
Team Poster Giveaway: Feb. 19 vs. EKU, 3 p.m.

Schedule Keychain Giveaway: Feb. 25 vs. EIU, 3 p.m.
The first 500 fans to Patterson Stadium will receive the 2014 home schedule keychain, a convenient reminder on your key ring of when to watch the Cardinals this season.
Social Media Scavenger Hunt: Feb. 26 vs. Morehead State, 3 p.m.
@UofLBaseball will be giving away special prizes and experiences to fans that interact with the Baseball team's Twitter account at the ballpark during the game.
Coach Mac's Floppy Hat Giveaway: March 22 vs. Rutgers, 1 p.m.
Coach McDonnell's signature hat will be given out to the first 100 fans through the gates, saluting Coach Mac's 300-plus wins as Louisville head coach.
Louisville Slugger Giveaway: April 26 vs. UConn, 1 p.m.
The first 200 fans to the game will receive a special promotion item from Louisville Slugger.
Team Photo Giveaway: May 16 vs. Cincinnati, 6 p.m.
Arrive early to receive an 8x11 team photo of the 2014 Cardinals -- Available to the first 500 fans through the gates.

With perfect views of the action and close access to the Sun Tan City Patio and playground, who would ever leave the outfield berm? Now you can enjoy $3 hamburgers and $2 beer specials every Saturday afternoon with BBQ on the Berm. EVERY SATURDAY!
SUNDAY: Visionworks Family Fun Day
Join in on all of the fun every Sunday this season! All eight Sunday home games will feature special family entertainment and activities presented by Visionworks including inflatable games. Also, kids can run the bases after the game and select players will sign autographs on the field. Plus dollar hot dogs will be available at the concessions. EVERY SUNDAY!
Cardinal Cap Day
Wear your Cardinals hat to the ballpark and get rewarded! On select Saturdays this season, fans who enter the stadium wearing any Louisville ball cap will receive a voucher for free 32oz. tub of popcorn. This promotion is scheduled for February 22, March 1, March 8 and March 15.
Cardinals fans should look like Cardinals fans. So, Louisville Baseball is making sure you are decked out in the latest gear with T-Shirt Tuesdays courtesy of adidas, Visionworks, Class Act Federal Credit Union and John Kenyon. On select Tuesday nights, the first fans through the gates will receive a specially designed Louisville Baseball T-shirt. Don't' miss this exciting giveaway on March 11, April 15, April 22 and May 13.
Family Allergy & Asthma's Trading Cards Giveaway
Looking to get your hands on the limited edition 2014 Louisville Baseball trading cards? Well here is your chance! The trading cards feature student-athletes and coaches from the 2014 team and a specially-released Louisville Legends card with famous Cardinals alumni. The trading cards are printed courtesy of Family Allergy & Asthma. Collect all five packs throughout the season! Ten cards will be given out each day on March 1, March 23, April 5, April 30 and May 15.

You are invited to enjoy a day out at the ballpark! Here is your chance to have a group outing for your organization or team at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Sun Tan City Patio is a free, covered patio area located on the top level of a three-tiered turf berm in left field. Annually, this hot spot attracts groups of 30 to 100. Calling all area youth Little League teams, 6th grade and younger, to join the Cardinals on the field! Anthem Buddies join the Cardinals on the field during pre-game festivities prior to standing next to the Cardinals for the national anthem. Admission to baseball games is FREE. Home Runs for Hope Program
"Home Runs for Hope" is a fundraiser with all of the proceeds benefiting Gilda's Club of Louisville. Partners with "Home Run for Home" make a financial pledge for every home run hit by the University of Louisville baseball team and all of the proceeds go to Gilda's Club, which is a network of affiliate clubhouses where men, women and children living with cancer, as well as their friends and families, meet to learn how to live with cancer, whatever the outcome.
