LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The No. 7 national seed Louisville baseball team never got the offense going in a 7-0 loss to 17th-ranked Vanderbilt in Sunday afternoon's NCAA Regional game at Jim Patterson Stadium.

With the loss, the top-seeded Cardinals (50-13) and No. 2 seeded Commodores (44-18) will meet for a third and decisive time in the NCAA Regional championship matchup on Monday at 6 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium with the winner advancing to next week's NCAA Super Regional against Florida State.

Tickets are available for Monday's game and can purchased in person from 9 a.m. ET to 4 p.m. ET at the U of L Ticket Office at the Swain Student Activities Center and at the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium Ticket Office. After 4 p.m. ET, tickets must be purchased in person at Jim Patterson Stadium.

In Sunday's game, Vanderbilt lefty Richie Goodenow limited the Cardinals to a season-low two hits with five strikeouts in his first ever complete game shutout to earn the win and improve to 3-1 on the season. Louisville's previous season-low for hits was four, which occurred twice during the regular season.

For the Cardinals, redshirt freshman righty Justin Amlung (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier HS) took the loss to fall to 5-2 on the season after allowing four runs on six hits with four strikeouts in 4.2 innings in the start.

After three scoreless innings to open the game, Vanderbilt started its scoring in the fourth as first baseman Aaron Westlake singled to center field off Amlung, moved to third on a single to center by third baseman Jason Esposito and then scored as right fielder Joe Loftus grounded into a 6-4-3 double play.

The Commodores took command of the game in the fifth inning with five runs, all on two outs, on four hits for a 6-0 advantage. After Amlung loaded the bases by giving up a single and two walks, Westlake started the scoring with an RBI single through the right side off junior lefty reliever Bob Revesz (Grove City, Pa./Grove City HS). Esposito followed with a two-run single to right field, while catcher Andrew Giobbi closed the scoring with a two-run single up the middle off righty reliever Tyler Mathis (Covington, Tenn./Covington HS) for the final pair of runs in the inning.

Vanderbilt added a final run in the eighth inning on an RBI single by designated hitter Curt Casali.

Louisville Notes
- The Cardinals dropped to 7-3 in NCAA post-season games at Jim Patterson Stadium with Sunday's loss. Overall, Louisville is 29-5 at home this season.

- Louisville will be the visiting team in Monday's game by virtue of having been the visiting team in one less game than Vanderbilt during the 2010 NCAA Regional.

- This marks the second straight year the Cardinals have entered Sunday of an NCAA Regional with a 2-0 record only to lose to Vanderbilt. Last year, the Commodores earned an 8-4 win in a must-win situation against the Cardinals to force a deciding game on Monday. Louisville went on to win last year's NCAA Regional with a 5-3 triumph on Monday night at Jim Patterson Stadium.
