With Wednesday's win, the Cardinals improved to 19-8 all-time at the BIG EAST Championship and 6-1 in first round games.
Louisville is now 18-6 all-time at Bright House Field with 17 of those coming in the BIG EAST Championship.
The Cardinals are 31-9 this season when scoring first.
Louisville, which has outscored opponents 83-12 in the first inning this season, has gone without scoring in the first in four straight games to match a season-long stretch (Feb. 28-March 4).
With their 14 hits in the regular season finale against Pitt and the 16 hits on Wednesday, the Cardinals have connected for 10 or more hits in back-to-back games for the first time since they had 10 against Seton Hall on April 15 and 15 against Indiana on April 17.
The 5.0 innings of work for sophomore Chad Green matched a season-high.
Prior to Wednesday's four-hit performance, sophomore Alex Chittenden's previous career best hit total was two achieved 14 times.
In two of his three career saves, including Wednesday's, sophomore Cole Sturgeon has pitched at least 2.0 innings of relief.
In his last four games, sophomore Kyle Gibson is hitting .412 (7-for-17) with seven RBI and seven runs scored. The triple in the eighth inning was the first of his career.
The hit-by-pitch for junior Nick Ratajczak in the eighth inning on Wednesday was his 24th of the season, which third on the Cardinals' all-time single season list and only one behind the second-place total of 25 by Logan Johnson in 2006.
