Louisville Head Coach Dan McDonnell
"For the second week in a row, Jared Ruxer gives us a quality start. That was what we needed. We scored three in the first inning with some big two-out hits and then to get a quality start on the mound was the momentum we needed. We knew it would be a battle to the end. Six pitchers contributed for us and a lot of guys had good at-bats offensively. To come away with a 4-3 win is what we needed to start the week."
Louisville Freshman RHP Jared Ruxer
"I felt really good and I had all three pitches working tonight for the most part. I was able to throw strikes and get a lot of groundballs. I was a little less nervous tonight than last week (in his first career start), but there were still some nerves because Ole Miss is a very good team. It started going away after the first couple of innings."
Louisville Junior 2B Nick Ratajczak
"The first inning was huge for us and it was great to get ahead early. We had leads early in the last two games in Alabama and didn't finish those the right way. We need to continue to improve and learn to keep the pedal down. Ole Miss is a very good team and we knew they'd battle back. It came down to the final out and it's a good win for us."
"Jared is so calm out there. Pitching against a talented, Top 25 team like Ole Miss and he was never fazed. He really did a great job and that's what we needed. Two wins in two starts and that's because he plays with a lot of confidence out there and never panics."
