"I have to start by giving credit to (Justin) Amlung. He gave up two in the first but didn't give up anything else until late in the game and he really competed out there. Our offense did what it needed to today with some two-out hits and we kept innings going."
"It was good to help us win today. My swing hasn't been at the level that I'm capable or where it was in the off-season, but I'll keep making some small adjustments. I want to stay short and quick to the ball and find a hit with two strikes to make things happen."

"From the start, I knew they were going to be aggressive, but I don't think I've had anybody jump on a first-pitch slider, especially a lefty on that home run in the first inning. I've given up early runs before, but I knew I had to come back and get outs and I did that until the eighth."
"It's a big relief when you have run-support out there. After we had the five-spot in the second, we could really play loose. I knew I didn't have to be perfect with everything. I could still be aggressive. It definitely eases things up where we're not pressing."
