Louisville Head Coach Dan McDonnell
"Jared gave us a good start in the first start of his career. He had a dominant first inning and then we were able to put up those five runs. We knew those guys would compete and he kept them under control for five innings."
"It was good to get some firsts today. Some young guys got their first hits of the season and some other young guys got their first chances to play and pitch. Fifteen hits and 13 runs are a great offensive effort. The five runs in the first were big, but the four in the fifth all with two outs are what put the game away. We've been talking about the two-out rally and that good offenses have to be able to come through in those situations. I'm really pleased because we did a lot of good things today. We were able to get a lot of guys in and those guys had success."
"I have a lot of respect for Indiana - the coaching staff and the program. They're playing with a lot of young kids, but they're a talented group. We certainly didn't want to take them lightly, so this is a good win for us."
Louisville Freshman INF Mason Snyder
"It was an awesome win for us. To put 13 runs and 15 hits on the board was a great performance. We slowed down a little after that first inning, but we got back after them in the fifth inning. It's really about continuing to push and not giving up or relaxing after the first inning."
"It's been exciting for me to get the opportunity to compete. It gives you a lot of confidence when Coach McDonnell puts you out there and believes you can get the job done. I just want to continue to make the most of the opportunities I'm given."
