2000: Opened with an impressive outing in relief against Evansville(2/12), tossing 4.0 innings, allowing only two hits. Had three scoreless stints in his 12 appearances, starting four games. Had the teams third-lowest opponents batting average.
1999: Started six games in the red and black, making a total of 18 appearances. Lead the team in opponents batting average, limiting opponents to a .202 clip. Grabbed the victory in three consecutive appearances striking out 14 in 16IP, including a complete game six hitter against Eastern Kentucky (3/11). The team was 13-5 in games Denny pitched. Personally went 3-1 with one save as a sophomore.
1998: Appeared 12 times, including six starts as a freshman, striking out 25 in 33 innings.
High School: One of the two Ballard Bruins with the Cards, playing baseball and basketball. Went 9-4 with 80 K’s and hit .316 with seven homers his senior year.
Personal: Born 1/13/79 in Louisville to Al and Denise Williams. Majoring in sports administration with a minor in marketing. Biggest thrill in sports was hitting the last second shot that beat Eastern in the regional basketball tournament. At 6’8” is the tallest Cardinal. Dream dinner foursome would be his grandmother, Britney Spears and cartoon characters Tom and Jerry.
