2012: Redshirted due to injury and did not see game action in his first season with the Louisville baseball program.

High School: Played three seasons of prep baseball for coach Josh Walker at Park Hill South High School. Selected in the 12th Round (366th overall) of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals. Ranked as one of the top 500 players in the class of 2011 by Perfect Game USA. Named First Team All-Conference as a senior after going 4-2 with a 1.60 ERA and 69 strikeouts. Selected as Second Team All-Conference as a junior after posting a 5-3 record with a 2.10 ERA and 66 strikeouts. School record holder in career wins, career strikeouts and single game strikeouts (18). Also earned three letters in basketball earning Second Team All-Conference and First Team All-District as a senior center.

Personal: Born on March 28, 1993 in Kansas City, Mo. Son of David and Kelly Schemenauer. Has one brother, Alec. Undecided on a major at the University of Louisville. After college, he wants to play professional baseball and attend law school. People with the greatest influence on his athletic career are his parents because they have always encouraged him. Hobbies and outside interests include watching and playing all sports and fishing. Favorite movies are 300, The Waterboy and all Will Ferrell movies. Favorite TV shows are Criminal Minds and anything on ESPN. Favorite athletes are Roy Halladay, Kevin Durant, Lionel Messi and Michael Jordan. Favorite cereal is Fruit Loops. Favorite candy bar is Hershey's Cookies `n' Crème. Favorite foods include seafood and Mexican. Favorite teams are the Philadelphia Phillies and the Kansas City Royals. Favorite restaurants are Panda Express and Chipotle. If he could have dinner with three people, he would invite Josh Hamilton, Michael Vick and Nolan Ryan.
