Fourth Annual Student-Athlete Talent Show Raises Funds for Special Olympics

UofL Athletic Department holds fourth annual talent show

2014: Made 10 appearances off the Louisville bench in first collegiate season. Was 1-for-2 with an RBI single in March 29 win over Butler. Earned first career hit with a single up the middle as a pinch hitter against Samford on March 15. Had first collegiate at-bat as a pinch hitter on Feb. 16 against Delaware.

High School: Played catcher under the guidance of coach Jason Gappa at Berkshire High School. Two-time All-Western Mass player in 2012 and 2013.Three-time All-State selection. Perfect Game All Region First Team honoree in 2013. Perfect Game All-Tournament selection in Jupiter in 2013. Ranked as the No. 412 player nationally by Perfect Game. Chosen as the New England Prep School Player of the Year in 2013. Lettered in three sports while at Berkshire HS (baseball, soccer, indoor track). Holds long jump record at Berkshire. As a junior, hit seven home runs and drove in 32 RBI while also stealing 20 bases.

Personal: Born Ryan Michal Summers, on Nov. 19, 1993, in Springfield, Ma. Son of James and Karen Summers. Has one younger brother, Nathan. Nephew of Louisville baseball director of operations Brian Mundorf. Majoring in business at the University of Louisville. After college, he plans to play baseball professionally or be a financial advisor. People with the greatest influence on his athletic career are Brian Mundorf and Scott Patterson. Biggest thrill in sports was hitting a three-run home run to move his team to the semifinal round in a tournament. Hobbies and outside interests include cooking, fishing, listening to music and playing video games. Favorite movies include Blackhawk Down, Fight Club and The Dark Night Rises. Enjoys watching Big Bang Theory, Lie to Me and SportsCenter. Favorite athletes include Robinson Cano, Terrell Suggs, Nick Swisher and Jonathan Quick. Favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Favorite candy bar is Butterfinger. Favorite foods include calamari, French onion soup, fried chicken and steak. Enjoys eating at Chick-fil-A, Morton's Steak House and Qdoba. Favorite teams are the New York Jets and the New York Yankees. Enjoys listening to J-Cole, John Mayer, Maybach Music Group and Mumford & Sons. Favorite quote "The man who chases two rabbits, catches none." If he could eat dinner with three people he would choose Aron Rolston, Babe Ruth and Jesus Christ. Something that many people don't know about him is that he plays drums and piano.
