High School: Played four seasons of prep baseball as a shortstop and pitcher at New Albany High School. Ranked among the Top 400 players in the nation in the class of 2012 by Perfect Game USA. Earned First Team All-State honors as a junior at New Albany after hitting .507 with a school record nine home runs to go with 36 RBI. On the mound, he was 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA. Named to North-South All-Star Team during senior season. Also lettered one season in basketball as a guard at New Albany.

Personal: Born Jordan Tyler Striegel on Feb. 2, 1994 in Sellersburg, Ind. Son of John and Kathy Striegel. Has one brother, Justin. Majoring in biology/pre-med at UofL. Biggest thrill in sports was winning three sectional titles in a row at New Albany. After college, he wants to play professional baseball and eventually attend medical school. Person with the greatest influence on his athletic career is his dad who taught him everything about baseball starting at a young age. Hobbies and interests include family, friends and church. Favorite TV channel is ESPN. Favorite athlete is Derek Jeter. Favorite candy bar is Milky Way. Favorite team is New York Yankees. Favorite restaurant is Olive Garden. Favorite type of music is country. If he could have dinner with three people, he would invite Michael Jordan, Jim Carrey and Derek Jeter.
