2013: Did not play in his second year with the Cardinals.

2012: Redshirted in his first season with the Louisville baseball program.

High School: Was a five-year letterwinner as a pitcher, first baseman and outfielder for coach Jody Hamilton at West Jessamine High School. Was Second Team All-State and earned All-District and All-Region honors as a senior. Was 7-3 with a 2.10 ERA and 73 strikeouts on the mound as a senior while hitting .333 with two home runs, seven doubles, two triples and 11 stolen bases. Was 4-1 with a 2.30 ERA as a junior and was 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA as a sophomore. Also earned one letter in cross country.

Personal: Born Jakson Wilfred Deyer on Oct. 25, 1992 in Lexington, Ky. Son of Kim Deyer. Has one brother, David. Majoring in communication at Louisville. Biggest thrill in sports was pitching the final inning to earn the save in a 4-3 victory in the Region title game to advance to the state tournament. Person with the greatest influence on his career was Dan Strait, his first baseball coach in Little League. Hobbies and outside interests include running, swimming, history and cooking. Favorite movies are Wedding Crashers, Cars, The Blind Side and National Treasure. Favorite TV shows are The Office, American Pickers and Pawn Stars. Favorite athletes are Kobe Bryant, Cliff Lee, Aaron Rodgers and Cameron Watts. Favorite cereal is Lucky Charms and favorite candy bar is Twix. Favorite foods are macaroni and cheese and ice cream. Favorite teams include Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Lakers and Florida State. Favorite restaurants are Red Robin and O'Charley's. Enjoys listening to country music. If he could have dinner with three people, he would invite his dad, Taylor Swift and Bobby Bowden.
