2000: Hook was the everyday leadoff hitter and centerfielder for the Cards, missing only one game. Does not have a fielding error in his career. His two errors are throwing errors, but he has nine assists from the outfield. Reached base in 46 games this year. Set the single season record for getting hit by a pitch with 12, and has the second all-time career total with 18. Stole 29 bases, the second highest single season total in U of L history. His career total of 54 is third all-time. Lead the team in runs with 41, sac flies with five and sacrifice hits with eight. Made one pitching appearance, striking out the only batter he faced(5/5). Played for the Cotuit Kettleers in the Cape Cod League over the summer, leading the league in steals with 29 thefts in 43 games.
1999: Placed in the top five in 17 categories following his sophomore season, including the team lead with 25 steals in only 27 attempts, the second best single-season total in school history. Played in all but four games last year and started all but five. Went four-for-four with three steals, three runs, four driven in and a walk in a 24-5 win vs. Wright State (3/5). “Hollywood” hit safely in 20 of the teams last 22 games. Handled 141 chances in the field without a miscue.
High School: Lettered in baseball, team handball, basketball and volleyball for the Notre Dame Knights. Named two-time athlete of the year in high school and played for the ‘96 Canadian National Baseball Team. Twice named team MVP of the handball team and was ‘96 MVP of the basketball team. Hit .482 with six homers and 35 RBI as a senior.
Personal: Born 4/11/79 to Robert and Dora Hook in Brampton, Ontario. Studying sports administration. Played in the Connie Mack World Series. His parents are his biggest inspiration. Once faced Rick Ankiel.
