Cross Country Women Finish Third, Men Fourth At Queen City Invitational

CINCINNATI - The Louisville women's cross country team finished third out of 10 teams and the men's team finished fourth out of 11 teams at the Queen City Invitational in Cincinnati on Saturday.

On the women's side, host Cincinnati finished first with 26 points and Morehead State finished second with 93 points, while Louisville scored 95 points. Cincinnati's Angie Kist won the 5K run with a time of 18:19. UC had four runners finish in the top ten. Louisville's Kim Shore finished 14th with a time of 19:23, while Alison Bradford finished 15th with a time of 19:37.

The Cincinnati men won the 8K run with 72 points, while Morehead State finished second with 85 points. Berea College finished third with 103 points and the Cardinals fourth with 104 points.

Morehead State's Paul Gilvin won the event with a time of 25:25.94. Louisville's Kell Griffin finished third with a time of 25:43.20. Mark Biros finished 11th with a time of 26:19.04.

The Cardinals will have a week off from competition before competing in the Conference USA Championships in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 30.
