MEMPHIS, Tenn. - University of Louisville track and field’s Guillaume Victorin and Ben Williams are heading to the NCAA Indoor Championships this week in Albuquerque, N.M., following their immaculate first seasons as Cardinals.
The two-day championships begin on Friday, March 14, and will be held in the Albuquerque Convention Center on the campus of the University of New Mexico.
Live results will be available on RecordTiming.com and the meet will be streamed live on ESPN3 on March 14 starting at 7:55 p.m. ET and March 15 starting at 7:50 p.m. ET. A tape delay of the championship airs March 22, starting at 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
Victorin, the first of the duo to compete, is scheduled to take part in the men’s long jump trials and final on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. The France native has the third-best mark in the country in the event of 7.91m/25-11.50. The mark, which earned Victorin runner-up honors at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championships, is the third-best jump in school history and the second-best performance only behind national champion Tone Belt.
In just his first season with Louisville, Victorin has recorded three wins in the long jump event. Under the tutelage of assistant coach Joe Walker Jr., Victorin improved a foot and a half from his season-opening jump to his mark at the conference championships.
Williams also has put together top seasons in school history in the jumps group. The sophomore won the league’s triple jump title two weeks ago, becoming the first champion in the event since Andre Black won the BIG EAST’s triple jump title in 2009.
