LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The nationally ranked University of Louisville track and field team will return to action this Friday and Saturday at the Gladstein Invitational hosted by Indiana University in Bloomington.

The two-day meet, which is expected to have more than 700 athletes competing, is scheduled to begin at Noon ET on Friday and continue Saturday at 10 a.m.

"We still have a few BIG EAST qualifying marks that we'd like to achieve before next week's Meyo Invitational," said UofL head coach Ron Mann. "We hope to earn those marks at IU this weekend so that we can then focus on preparing for the final push to the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in a few weeks."

For the second straight week, the Cardinal men's team is ranked 10th in the Trackwire Top 25, the highest ranking in school history.

Last week at the Rod McCravy Memorial in Lexington, Ky., the Cards won three four titles and set four school records, led by sophomore Tone Belt who stayed unbeaten on the season in both the high jump and long jump with wins in each event. Junior Wesley Korir added a school record performance (4:10.29) to win the mile run, while sophomore Andre Black won his third straight triple jump of the season in school record fashion (51-05.00). On the women's side, senior Emily Turland finished fourth in the weight throw with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Following this weekend's meet, the Cards will compete at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational on Feb. 2-3 in South Bend, Ind. Including this weekend's event at IU, the Cards have three meets remaining before the BIG EAST Championships on Feb. 17-18 in Akron, Ohio.
