Louisville, '10

Former University of Louisville track and field all-BIG EAST honoree Lindsey Cook rejoined the Cardinals as the director of operations in 2011, overseeing alumni relations, fundraising, team travel and logistics, home meet operations and assisting with equipment orders and the program's budget.

A Borden, Ind., native, Cook was part of head coach Dale Cowper's throws group from 2006-10. Cook, a two-year captain, earned all-BIG EAST honors in 2008 for placing third in the hammer throw at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, helping the Louisville women to one of their three-straight BIG EAST outdoor titles during her tenure. In 2009, she was an NCAA Mideast Regional qualifier in the event, and a year later, she finished 11th nationally at the NCAA Championships in the hammer throw.

Academically, Cook was a three-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association all-academic team selection (2008-10). She was recognized on the Dean's List each of the three years, while garnering athletic director's academic honor roll status from 2006-10. Cook, who graduated cum laude with a 3.84 grade-point average in finance, was part of three distinguished honor societies: National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Beta Gamma Sigma (International Business Honor Society) and Chi Alpha Sigma (National Student-Athlete Honor Society).

Upon graduation, Cook entered the private business and nursing sectors from 2010-11. Between the two stops, she worked with accounts payable and receivable, invoices (creating and managing), reconciled accounts and assisted with the admission and discharging of clients.
