Whitney Campbell Named BIG EAST Swimmer of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Louisville senior Whitney Campbell turned in an impressive performance at the SMU Classic and was named the BIG EAST Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week. Campbell led Louisville to a runner-up trophy in Dallas, Texas, against tough competition including Florida, Florida State, Wisconsin, Rice and Southern Methodist. Campbell swam the lead leg in a 400-frestyle relay victory with a 3:24.88 mark (51.02 split). After winning the 50-free in 23.01, a NCAA B-cut, the senior also took second place in the 100 free with a time of 51.29. Campbell and UofL are back in action on Nov. 6 when they travel to Pittsburgh.
