Strong Swims Boarded for Day 3 at World Championship Trials Prelims

The Cardinal swimmers turned in a strong performance in the preliminaries on Day 3 at the 2009 ConocoPhillips National Championships and World Championship Swim Trials at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis.

Leslie VanWinkle will swim in the B Finals in the 400m-IM when she qualified 10th with a time of 4:47.97.

"It was a great morning, " said U of L head coach Arthur Albiero.

In the 50m freestyle, Kris Findorff finished 21st in 22.84 with teammate Brendon Andrews posting a time of 23.27 to finish 32nd. Whitney Campbell was 18th, going 25.97.

This competition is the selection meet which determines the U.S. National Team that will compete at the 2009 World Championships in Rome from July 22-August 2.
