University of Louisville senior swimmer Leslie VanWinkle posted a time of 2:14.16 in the 200-meter Individual Medley to qualify tenth at the 2009 ConocoPhillips National Championships and World Championship Swim Trials at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis.
VanWinkle, who redshirted last season, will swim in the consols tonight in Indianapolis.
"This was a fantastic swim," said U of L head coach Arthur Albiero. "It was a huge swim for her and the highest finish ever for a Cardinal in a national meet."
This competition is the selection meet which determines the U.S. National Team that will compete at the 2009 World Championships in Rome from July 22-August 2.
