University of Louisville incoming freshman Kelsi Worrell has been named the New Jersey High School Swimmer of the Year after her stellar performance at the New Jersey Meet of Champions which was held on March 3-4.

Worrell, a senior at Rancocas Valley High School, broke meet records in the 200-free, 100-fly, and 100-free with times of 1:47.29, 53.72, and 49.7 respectively. No female swimmer in the history of the Meet of Champions has ever broken three meet records in a single meet.

"We are very excited to welcome Kelsi and the Worrell Family to our Cardinal Swimming Family," said UofL head coach Arthur Albiero. "From the first time we meet Kelsi we were impressed by her personality. We believe her performances at the NJ HS State meet have only scratched the surface of her potential. We see great leadership qualities in her, and we look forward to her development and impact in our program for the years to come."

In addition to swimming at Rancocas Valley HS, she swims for Coach Garrett Clark and the Jersey Storm Swim Team. Worrell has garnered many accolades throughout her high school career. She is the 3-time Rancocas Valley MVP, 3-time Burlington County Swimmer of the Year, and 2-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. She was named an All-American in the 100-fly in 2009 &2012, 100-free in 2011, and 100-back in 2010. Worrell was also named to the NJ All-State team in 2010 & 2011.
