Four Earn Second Swims at Indy Grand Prix at Day 2 Prelims

In the prelims of the second day of the Indianapolis Grand Prix, the University of Louisville swimmers placed three in the finals for this evening at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis.

In the 400-M IM, freshman Tanja Kylliainen qualified 8th with a time of 4:56.09. Senior Stephanie Juncker was 21st with a time of 5:04.14.

In the 200-M free, Joao De Lucca qualified 4th with a time of 1:49.88. De Lucca was 13th in the 50-M freestyle with a time of 23.27. To illustrate the highly competitive nature of this meet, U of L's Caryle Blondell boarded a 23.76 and was 33rd.

Pedro Oliveira set a national record for his native Portugal in the 200-M backstroke with a 2:00.33 and qualified 4th.

In the women's 200-M freestyle, Lindsey LaPorte was 28th with a time of 2:05.38. Eszter Povazsay was 20th in the 200-M backstroke with a time of 2:18.76.

Due to technical difficulties, complete prelim results were not available on USA Swimming's website for the Men's 400-M IM or 200-M back nor for the Women's 50-M freestyle.
