The University of Louisville swim team set three school records during Day Two at the 2008 ConocoPhillips Short Course National Championships at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
Carlos Van Isschot set a new mark in the 100-back with a time of 47.59, good for 10th place. He also set a record in the 50-back going 22.11. Freshman Raine Thompson set a new school record in the 100-back, posting a time of 55.92.
In other highlights, senior Vali Preda finished sixth in the 100-breast with a time of 53.73. The women's 200-medley relay team of Raine Thompson, Therese Bergstrom, Anna Dishuck and Whitney Campbell combined to place fourth in 1:41.71. The men's 200-medley relay team of Carlos Van Isschot, Vali Preda, Adam Madarassy and Brendon Andrews posted a time of 1:28.78 and a fifth place finish.
Raine Thompson was 23rd in the 100-fly and Therese Bergstrom was 10th in the 100-breast, turning in a time of 1:02.20.
Action resumes Saturday morning in the final day of the short course events.
