Swimming Finals at Star-studded Indianapolis Grand Prix

In the finals of the first day of the Indianapolis Grand Prix, U of L swimmers held their own against a star-studded field Thursday night at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Joao De Lucca finished sixth in the star-studded 100-M freestyle final with a time of 49.95. Michael Phelps swam in the same final, finishing second with a time of 48.74.

NCAA Champion Carlos Almeida was tenth in the 200-breast with a time of 2:16.09. Teammate Gisselle Kohoyda was disqualified in the women's final.

Cardinal alum Adam Madarassy was 10th in the 100-fly with a time of 53.45, right behind American Olympian Ryan Lochte who was ninth with a time of 52.32. Michael Phelps won the A-final with a time of 52.23.
