Ryan Wochomurka, a 21-time All-American and former USA National Team member, is in his sixth year on the coaching staff for the University of Louisville. This past summer, Wochomurka was promoted to associate coach and director of men's recruiting.
"Having Ryan Wochomurka on our coaching staff was a major leap for our program. Ryan's experience as part of the US National Team and also as a member of the NCAA Championship team at Auburn, added a great competitive edge to our program at UofL. He is a proven winner," said Arthur Albiero, Cardinal head coach.
Wochomurka was an integral part of the U of L coaching staff that helped coach the men to their first top ten finish at NCAAs in school history and the first top 25 NCAA finish for the women. Along with Rachel Komisarz and Chris Lindauer, Wochomurka was nominated for assistant coach of the year by College Swimming Awards. He also helped coach U of L's first national champion and first women's A-finalist as well as Olympic swimmers in both 2008 and 2012.
Wochomurka, a native of Columbus, Ind., was an outstanding swimmer for Auburn University where helped the Tigers win NCAA Team Championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005. A 21-time All-American for the Tigers, in 2004, Wochomurka was two-time NCAA Champion on the 200- and 400- Free-style Relays. As a standout on one of the nation's most storied swim programs, he was an eight-time Southeastern Conference Champion and set SEC and NCAA records in both the 100-meter and 100-yard free-style. An excellent student in the classroom, Wochomurka won the Top Tiger Academic Award twice before leaving Auburn with a bachelor of arts in political science and finance.
He was Olympic Trials finalist in the 50-freestyle, finishing seventh with a 22.78 LCM in 2004. A two-time FINA World Cup Silver Medalist, he also competed in the 2003 FINA World Championships where he was a silver medalist in the 4x100 free relay for the United States. He was a USA Swimming National Team Member from 2002-2004.

After leaving the US National Team, and upon graduation, he worked for the city of Auburn as a student public finance specialist before joining TYR Sport, Inc., the largest privately held swimwear manufacturer in the world. There, he structured promotional contracts and acted as a recruitment representative.
He and his wife, Leigh, are the parents of a little boy, Hayes.
