01/26/2013 Men's and Women's Swimming Beats KentuckyMen edge Cats 152-148, women prevail 11/18/2012 Swimming and Diving Have Top Qualifier in All But One EventThe men enter the day in first and the women are second Junior: Redshirted season due to injury Sophomore: Mike adds depth in the individual medley and breaststroke events. He recorded a personal best in the 500-free at the Purdue Invitational with a time of 4:40.98. Freshman: Mike swam in numerous events during his freshman season. A versatile swimmer, he competed in the 100 and 200-breast, 200 and 400-IM, 100-back, 500-free and 400-free relay. Prep: Michael came to the University of Louisville from Portland, Oregon, where he swam for Jim Bowe at David Douglas High School and Skip Runkle at Mt. Hood Aquatics. Michael tied for tenth placed in the 400-IM at the 2008 Short Course Juniors. His high school took first place at the Oregon School Activities Association 6A State Championship in 2008. Some of his swimming achievements include US Open Qualifier, a tenth place finish at Junior Nationals, David Douglas Senior Athlete of the Year, five time All- American, and a team captain.
