Men win 210-87 and Women win 204-94

Freshman: Ruben competes in the freestyle events, specifically the 200- and 500-freestyle races, and occasionally in several relays. He recorded his best time in the 200-free at the Michigan Invite, swimming it in 1:37.73, and in the 100-free, going 45.92. He went a 4:30.42 in the 500-free, but went a best time at the Conference Championships, coming in at 4:26.92. Ruben also recorded a 45.97 in the 100-free, and a B-cut time of 1:37.89 in the 200-free at AAC's as an exhibition swimmer. Ruben redshirted the 2012-2013 season.

Prep: Ruben comes to the Cardinals from Valencia, Venezuela where he swam for Colegio de Abogados for Coach Fernando Parada. He attended Patria Soberaila High School. He competed at the Junior South American Championship as well as the Junior Central American Championships and was a member of the Junior Venezuelan National team. He also attended swim camps at Davie Nadadores in Florida.

Personal: Son of Ruben and Marianela Izarra. Born August 3, 1993. Major is Exercise Science.
