Junior: Raine competed in the USA Swimming Nationals in Austin, Texas. She was also named the BIG EAST Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 19. During the BIG EAST Championships, Raine competed in the 200- and 400-medley relays, the 100- and 200-fly, and the 100-back. She swam the butterfly leg of the 200- and 400-medley relays with splits of 23.66 and 53.13, respectively; both were the fastest splits in the race. In the 200, she helped the Cards to a first-place finish with a time of 1:38.43, and in the 400, she led her team to a second-place finish at 3:37.29. Both teams made the national B-cut and set new school records. Raine finished first in the 100-fly with a B-cut time of 53.10 and second in the 200-fly with a B-cut time of 1:58.47, setting two more school records in the process. In the 100-back, Raine recorded a time of 55.68 and finished seventh. She finished the season as a four-time All-BIG EAST performer.
Sophomore: Raine competed at the USA Swimming Nationals in Irvine, Calif. and posted a time of 1:03.02 in the 100- meter fly for 87th. Including her victory in the 100-fly, Raine was named All-BIG EAST in three events. At the BIG EAST championships, in the 200-medley relay, she swam the butterfly leg in 23.69 for an overall time 1:39.94. This relay team earned second place and made the national B cut. She also swam the butter- r fly leg of the 400-medley relay for a split time of 52.94 and a total team time of 3:37.35, finishing in second place and making the national B cut. She also made the national B cut and finished in first place in the 100-yard butterfly event which she swam in 53.89. In the 100-yard backstroke, she finished 5th with a time of 55.61, making the national B cut. Raine's last event, the 200-butterfly, gave her a fifth place finish with a time of 2:01.18, more than two seconds faster than her preliminary time.
Freshman: Raine set two individual school records as a freshman and was named All-BIG EAST. She set a school mark when she finished third in the A-Final of the 100-fly in the BIG EAST with a time of 53.98. She was also third in the A-final of the 100 back where she posted a time of 55.03. She also swam in the 200-back where she was in first in the consols with a time of 1:59.26. She was part of the 400-medley relay that finished second in 3:39.28. At the FINA World Championship Trials, Raine swam the 100-meter fly in 1:02.24.
Prep: A Paducah, Kentucky native, Raine swam for Andy Farris at Paducah Swim Team. She swam for her school, Paducah Tilghman, as well where she was coached by Patty Thompson. In 2006, she was the runner-up in the 100-fly with a time of 56.76. During her senior year she showed her versatility and chipped in another second-place finish in the 100-back at the Kentucky High School State Championships. Raine is a six-time All-American, three-time 1st Team All-State honoree and a four-time time co-captain.
