BIG EAST Swimming - Day 2 Finals

Freshman: Victoria added great versatility for the Cardinals... She was named an All BIG EAST Performer in the 200-back... At the BIG EAST Championships, Victoria was a member of the fourth place 800-free relay where she swam the third leg in 1:50. 79... Individually, she finished in tenth in the 500-free with a time of 4:50.33, finished twelfth in the 400-IM with a time of 4:22.25, and was the top Cardinal with a runner-up finish in the 200-back with a time of 1:56.81... In the fall, Victoria traveled to the SMU Classic where she finished fifth in the 500-free (4:50.77) and was a member of the 800-free relay and split 1:50.63... In the dual meet against Pittsburgh she picked up two victories in the 1000-free and 200-back as well as a third place in the 200-free. In December, she competed at the USA Long Course National Championships where she picked up another Olympic Trial qualifying time in the 400-IM in a time of 4:54.20.

Prep: Senior National qualifier Victoria Mitchell joins the Cardinals from Cary, N.C., and is coached by Paul Silver of the Marlins of Raleigh swim team. Her versatility in the pool has earned her the 2010 NC Swimming Senior Championships High Point award and has qualified her for the USA National Championships in the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.54), 1000-yard freestyle (9:51.88), and 200-yard backstroke (2:00.51). She was a two-time NISCA Swimming All-American and also swam USA Long Course Nationals in the 200-back, 400-free and 1000-free. Victoria earned Scholastic All-America and USA Swimming Academic All-America honors.
