She was a member of the fourth place 800-free relay as the second leg and split 1:48.97. In the prelims of the 500-free she posted a 4:55. 69, and placed sixteenth in the finals session. She tied for fourteenth in the 200-free in a time of 1:50.72. Breann recorded her highest individual finish in the 100-free with a thirteenth place finish in 51.36. In dual meet action, she was the top Cardinal finisher in the meet against Indiana where she swam a 1:51.56 in the 200-free. Breann opted to undergo shoulder surgery after the BIG EAST Championships. Freshman: Breann had strong performances against Cincinnati before heading into the BIG EAST Championships. Against the Bearcats, she led the 800-free relay team to a first-place finish and added another first-place finish in the 200-free. During the BIG EAST Championships, she competed in the 400- and 800-free relays, the 100- and 200-free, and the 500-free preliminaries. Breann swam the second leg in the 400- and 800-free relays. She had the fastest split (50.51) in her field for the 400, helping the Cards reach a second-place finish with a final B-cut time of 3:19.91. In the 800, she had the second-fastest split at 1:47.14, guiding her team to the race victory in a school-record and B-cut time of 7:11.10. Breann also had a second-place finish in the 200-free, making the national B-cut with a time of 1:48.45. She was a three-time All-BIG EAST performer for the Cards. Prep: Breann hails from Mason, Ohio where she swam at Ursuline Academy and the Countryside Torpedoes YMCA under the tutelage of Coach Brad Isham. Her personal best finish was first in the 200-free with a time of 1:49.66 at the 2009 Ohio State Championships. Breann earned Girls Greater Cincinnati League swimmer of the year, Cincinnati Division 1 swimmer of the year and Greater Cincinnati/northern Kentucky swimmer of the year honors.
