Junior: LaPorte swam at the NCAA championships as the second leg of the 800-freestyle relay that took 23rd in 7:18.33, splitting an 1:50.86. Coming off an injury, LaPorte was an exhibition swimmer in her junior year at the BIG EAST Championships, however would have scored points by making finals. LaPorte swam season best times in the 100-, 200- and 500-freestyle in 51.82, 1:49.20, and 4:56.45. At the Purdue Invite, LaPorte swam the 100-freestyle in 52.66, the 200-freestyle in 1:51.70, and the 500-freestyle in 4:59.52.
Sophomore: Lindsey continued to play a vital role for the Cardinals in the freestyle events. At the BIG EAST Championships, she competed and placed in the top 8 in all of the events that she swam which included the 200-, 500- and 1650- freestyle as well as the 800-free relay. In the 200-free, she placed sixth in a time of 1:48. 16. She finished eighth in both the 500- and 1650-free in times of 4:48.89 and 16: 48.79 respectively. As the lead off leg of the 800-free relay that placed fourth, she split 1:49.54. Lindsey also competed at the USA Long Course National Championships in Atlanta in December where she posted a best time in the 200-meter free in 2:03.94.
Freshman: Lindsey set a new school record in the 1650 distance swim (16:28.05) as well as in the 500-free (4:47.39) at the USA Short Course Nationals. She used that momentum going into the BIG EAST Championships and had strong showings in the 800-free relay, the 200-free, and the 500-free preliminaries. She swam the first leg for the 800-free relay team, with her split time of 1:48.43 (third fastest of the field) helping the squad earn a first-place finish with a school-record and B-cut time of 7:11.10. In the 500-free preliminaries, she had the sixth-fastest time, finishing with a B-cut mark of 4:50.10. In the 200-free, Lindsey finished third and made the national B-cut with a time of 1:48.85. She finished the year as a two-time All-BIG EAST performer.
Prep: Lindsey joined the Cardinal squad from Pinnacle High School in Scottsdale, Arizona where she swam for Coach Mike Wardwell. She also swam for Kevin Zacher at the Scottsdale Aquatic Club. Lindsey was a member of Pinnacle's first place finishes at the 2007 and 2008 5A AZ State Championships and Scottsdale Aquatic Club's sixth place finish at the 2008 Fed Way Sectionals. Her personal best
finish was first in the 100-back with a time of 55.91 at the 2008 5A AZ State Championships.
