Men's Swimming Leads Tennessee Invitational; Women Are Third After Day 1

Riley Martin highlights Day 1 with strong 500-free showing

Junior: As a junior, Nicole had a solid showing with a season high score on 1-meter against UK. She posted a 202.12 and finished sixth on 3-meter and posted a 187.35 on 1-meter. She posted her season high score on 3-meter against Cincinnati where she finished fifth and posted a 221.85.

Sophomore: Nicole had some solid showings in some early meets. Her best performance came against the University of Kentucky where she placed sixth in the 1m with a score of 161.40 and added another sixth place finish in the 3m posting a score of 213.08. Against Cincinnati she posted a score of 223.12 in the 3m.

Freshman: Nicole dove in the 1- and 3-meter events for the Cardinals as a freshman. She competed in the Purdue Invitational and against Miami of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Prep: Nicole came to Louisville from Shawnee, Kansas where she dove for Gabe Downey at Great Plains Diving and Cathy Jones and Shawnee Mission West High School. She competed in the West Nationals in the summer of 2005. Nicole was a four year state qualifier in Kansas. In 2009, she placed eleventh in the state competition during one-meter diving. She is an Academic All American and a United States Marines Scholar Athlete. Some of Nicole's academic achievements included Kansas Governor's Scholar, member of the National Honors Society, and the Smith College Book Award.

Personal: She is the daughter of Darrell Knapp and Nancy Knapp. Her major is biomedical engineering.
