Junior: At NCAAs, Liz was integral in the Cards' relay efforts. She was part of the 200-free relay that made school history by finaling. With Halet anchoring (22.19), the Cardinals finished seventh with a time of 1:28.44 which was also a school record. As an individual, she swam the 200-free at NCAAs with a time of 1:48.66. She represented the Cards at the World Trials. Liz earned All-BIG EAST honors as a junior. At BIG EAST, she finished third in the 200-free with a time of 1:43.12. In the 100-free, she finished fourth with a time of 50.10. She was fifth in the 50-free with a time of 23.04, a lifetime best. She anchored the school record-breaking, conference winning 200-free relay that boarded a 1:29.46. In the 400-free relay, Halet anchored with a split of 49.05, as the Cardinals went 3:18.16 for the win and set the school record. As anchor in the 800-free relay, she split 1:49.85 as the Cardinals went a school record 7:16.14 with the foursome finishing as runnerup.

Sophomore: As a sophomore, Liz helped set four school records as part of the 200-medley relay, the 200-free relay, 400-free relay and the 800-free relay teams at the BIG EAST Championships. She set lifetime bests in the 50-free and the 100-free at the same meet. She finaled in the 50-free and reached the podium with her fifth place finish in the 100-free at the BIG EAST, both with lifetime best performances. She represented the Cardinals at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.

Freshman: As a freshman, she set a lifetime best in the 200-free at the Indiana Invitational,. She was a 2007 US Open participant as well. Prep: The Minneapolis, Minn. native was the Minnesota High School State Champion in the 100-free and runner-up in the 200-freestyle. She also was finalist in the 50- and 100-freestyle at the Junior National Championships in 2006. Liz comes to U of L from Champlin Park Senior High School. She was a three-time MVP and captain her senior year. She is a six-time All-American. She swam for Great Wolf Swim Club for coach Dave Bentz.

Personal: She is the daughter of Rick Halet and Linda Nelson. She was born on August 7, 1988. She is majoring in English/humanities with minors in Spanish/psychology.
