Freshman: Edelen competed at the Ohio Stat Winter Invite, where he turned in his best performances of the season. In the 200-free, he set a new personal best in a time of 1:41.20. He also set a best time in the 100-fly, with a 50.71. He posted a 21.28 in the 50-free and a 45.98 in the 100-free, which were both season best times. In dual meet action, Edelen recorded a fourth place finish in the 100- and 200-free against Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan. He also finished third in the 100-free in his first collegiate dual meet against Xavier. Prep: Kentucky native Rudy Edelen comes to the `Ville from Bowling Green. The Bowling Green High School and Southern Kentucky Swim Club product was a finalist in the 50-yard freestyle at the 2010 Kentucky High School State Meet. In 2011, Edelen took top honors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.75. Edelen also placed second in the 50-yard freestyle and was on the runner-up 200-medley relay team along with Harry Griffin, Will Kilgore and Corey Pruitt.
