Junior: Caryle was victorious in three relay events at the American Conference Championships: 200-medley, 200-freestyle, and 400-freestyle. He also individually placed runner up in the 100-freestyle. With all of these achievements, he was named to the All-American Conference team. Caryle qualified to swim the 100-freestyle at the NCAA Championships with a time of 42.72 which is 19th overall, and the top time is 41.46. Blondell was a member of the 400 free relay squad that posted a second place finish in the consolation bracket at the NCAA Championships. Blondell finished 30th in the 100 free with a time of 43.54 at the NCAA Championships while adding a 46th place finish in the 50 free.
Sophomore: As a sophomore, Blondell continued to make an impact for the Cardinals at BIG EAST as well as the NCAA's. Blondell's second BIG EAST proved to be his best one thus far. Blondell placed 3rd in the 50-freestyle in a time of 19.97 naming him an All- BIG EAST performer. In the 100-backstroke he finished 5th with a final time of 49.27. He also placed 2nd in the 100-freestyle in a time of 43.48 again earning another All- BIG EAST performer award. Blondell was a key member in earning the Cardinals a BIG EAST Champion in the 200- and 400- freestyle relays, qualifying him for the NCAA Championships. Blondell's best individual finish was 14th in the 100-freestyle in 43.31, 33rd in the 50-freestyle in 19.84. He was also a member of the 200-freestyle relay for a 10th place finish splitting 19.32, 400-medley relay for an 18th place finish. Blondell was named an All- American for the 400-freestyle relay, which placed 4th splitting a 42.94 at NCAA. Blondell also swam at the Charlotte UltraSwim his first long course meet of the summer swimming the 50-meter freestyle in 23.52, and the 100-meter freestyle in 51.81. Blondell was also one of eight team members to compete for the Cards at the SMU Classic, and Blondell was named to the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll.
Freshman: As a freshman, Blondell had an immediate impact in his first BIG EAST Championships as he made the A-Final in all three of his individual events. Blondell was one of six Cardinals to make the A-Final of the 50-free, during which he placed seventh with a time of 20.19. In the 100 back he finish in sixth place in a time of 49.39. He also placed sixth in the 100 free, and had a prelims time of 43.51. Blondell's times in both the 50- and 100-free were NCAA B-cuts. He was also a member of the BIG EAST Champion 200- and 400-free relays, which set both BIG EAST and school records and made the national B-cuts. He qualified for the NCAA Championships as a member of the freestyle relays. At the NCAA Championships, he finished 39th in the 50-free, with a time of 20.01, 45th in the 100-free, with a tie of 44.36, and split a 43.02 as a member of the tenth place 400-free relay. He was named an Honorable Mention All-American as a member of the 400-free relay. Prep: Caryle Blondell comes to the Cardinals from San Fernando Hill, Trinidad, where he swam in the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, India. A multiple age group champion, he swam in the Aquatic Centre International Meet in Barbados and was named the Trinidad y Tobago Armature Swimming Association Swimmer of the Year in 2008. He won a silver medal in the 4 x 100 free relay in the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games in 2010. Blondell posted his best times as a sprint specialist in the National Short Course Open Championships. He is a member of the Trinidad national team. Blondell also swam in the Charlotte Ultra Swim in 2010.
