In the 100-breast, he set another personal best in his first BIG EAST Final with a time of 54.25, which was good enough for third place. In the 200-breast, he placed fifth with a best time of 1:57.84. Addison was named an All-BIG EAST performer. After the BIG EAST Championships, he competed at the Ohio State Last Chance Qualifier and topped the time he set at BIG EAST in the 200-breast with a 1:57.57. In the fall, Addison captured his first Olympic Trials Qualifying time at the Tennessee Invite in the 200-breast with a time of 2:18. 24. In the double dual meet against Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan, he posted two second place finishes in the breaststroke events and a third place finish as a member of the 200-medley relay team.

A five-time high school All- American, the breaststroke specialist was runner-up at the 2010 Indiana High School State Meet in the 100-breast after posting the fastest time of the meet in the preliminaries (55.17). He won the consolation finals of the 200-medley relay at the 2009 state meet and currently holds the 100-breast record in Indiana. A member of the 2009 National Select Camp, he chose UofL over Auburn, Indiana and Tennessee.
