Freshman: Andrea was named to the All-American Conference team with first place finishes in the 100-breaststroke and the 400-freestyle relay, along with a second place finish with the 400-medley relay, and third place finishes in the 50-freestyle and 200-freedtyle relay. She qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100- and 200-breaststroke. She finished 24th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:10.29 and 26th in the 100 breast with a time of 1:00.84. Her time in the AAC 100-breaststoke of 59.35 put her ninth overall, with the top time being 57.28. In the 200-breaststroke she is 37th overall with a time of 2:10.81; first place is 2:04.34. She was a member of the relay squad that posted a fourth place finish in the consolation bracket.
Prep: Andrea Cottrell hails from Reynoldsburg, Ohio where she attended Bishop Hartley High School and was crowned state champion in the 100- breaststroke in 2012. As a member of Greater Columbus Swim Team of Ohio, Cottrell qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trails in the 100- meter breaststroke, and was a finalist at the short course Junior Nationals.
