Post-collegiate Ambition: Become a famous shot putter, get signed by adidas, have a wonderful family, and own an NFL team Person with Greatest Influence on Athletic Career: Coach Whitefield and my dad Biggest Thrill in Sports: Winning What Impresses You Most About Your Coach: He is able to put up with a tough cookie like me and the ability to demonstrate something inside the ring without hurting himself. What Has Been Your Biggest Obstacle to Overcome: The death of my brother while being away at college Hobbies and Outside Interests: Bowling, eating Twizzlers, and shopping Pre-competition Superstitions: Eat, pray, and sleep...in that order Favorite Professional Team: New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears Favorite Movie: 28 Days Later, The Descent 1 & 2, and scary movies in general Favorite TV Show: Fear Factor, Say Yes to the Dress, and Four Weddings Favorite Food: Macaroni & cheese and peach cobbler Favorite Musical Group: Tye Tribbett & G.A. Favorite Professor: Dr. Joe Grant Favorite Class: JA 355 - Criminalistics A "Stupid Human Trick" I Can Do: Make `beats' with my big toe Best Advice I Have Gotten in Sports: Have fun with every meet and always be on point, you never know when your opponent will have an off day. What People Should Know About Me but Probably Don't: I like karate and used to praise dance in church. Words That Best Describes Me: Fun, real, enthusiastic, pretty, and loving If You Could Have Dinner With Three People, Who Would It Be? Superman - so he could fly us back and forth from dinner, Jack Black - because my former teammate Josh Greenwald looks like him and he's funny, and my nephew Erin Young - so he could order everything on the menu and not eat it. Why I Chose UofL: It felt like the best fit for me, away from home but not too far. Also the graduation rate for student-athletes was very good. Best Part of Being a Student-Athlete: Competing, traveling, and meeting new people
Moment I Realized I Was Good At My Sport: In high school when I was beating all the boys and getting good comments from random coaches If I Won the Lottery, I Would Use the Money For: My family's needs (not wants), donate some, and buy a new car Strangest Thing That Ever Happened to Me While Competing: I tripped over my own foot while throwing and fell on the board What Is Your Favorite Place You Have Ever Visited: Arizona with the track team during freshman year spring break. It was the hottest place ever and one of the best meets that year. Favorite Season: Spring because track season starts and you get to show off all your hard work from the fall |
