Antone "Tone" Belt returns to U of L as Assistant Director for Academic Services after previously serving in multiple capacities including intern, graduate assistant and assistant academic counselor for the academic services department from 2008 to 2012. His responsibilities will include coordinating the CRLA certified tutorial services program, managing the Houston-Bridgeman Fellows Cardinal Degree Completion program, administering the student work-study program and coordinating all award and postgraduate nominations for student-athletes.

Belt accepted an assistant director position at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2012. He then went on to serve as the lead academic counselor for the Towson University football program, where he delivered recruiting presentations to prospective athletes, coordinated a class-monitoring program and managed the Athletic Resource Center.

As a student-athlete, Belt was a member of the Louisville track & field program, winning the University's first ever individual NCAA National Championship (long jump) in 2007. During his illustrious career, he also garnered 7 NCAA All-American honors, 10 Big East Conference Championships, and a silver medal in the 2006 IAAF World Junior Championships in Beijing, China.

A native of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, Belt graduated from the University of Louisville in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science (Sport Administration) and Master of Education (Public Health) in 2012.
