Media Invited to Sweats to Suits Mock Interview Training

Cardinal athletes will network and be interviewed by local businesses to prepare them for careers

Audrey "Lynne" Barney is in her second year as the Director of Athletic Career Services. She is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Cardinal Athletic Career Center in Cardinal Park as well as advising Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society. Prior to her current assignment in career services, Lynne worked in the Office of Athletic Compliance, as the Coordinator of Athletic Career Services and was responsible for coordinating scholarships and institutional, state, and federal financial aid to all varsity sports.

Lynne served 24 years in the Kentucky Air National guard, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2003; and retired as a Patrol Sergeant from the Jeffersontown Police Department after 20 years in law enforcement. She has also served as adjunct faculty for the Kentucky College and Technical College System and Ivy Tech Community College and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Louisville.

Active in the Louisville community and at her church, Lynne is passionate about helping people. She is on the Board of Directors for The Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church Community Development Corporation and she is the co-founder of The Leading Ladies Society, Inc., a scholarship and grant foundation for women.

Barney is a graduate of the Community College of the Air Force and the Kentucky Technical College system. She received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Training and Development in 2003, and a Master of Arts in Higher Education with a Concentration in Sport Administration in 2006, both from the University of Louisville.

Lynne is the mother of two daughters, Adele and Carolynne.
