MISSION
University of Louisville's SPORTS PERFORMANCE staff is committed to providing a comprehensive performance training program- professionally implemented- to optimize athleticism, reduce injury risk and increase team success.
PHILOSOPHY
The primary goal of the SPORTS PERFORMANCE program is to minimize injury risk by adequately preparing athletes to manage the physical stress of competition. It is well established that effective training improves joint stability and joint range of motion, increases muscular strength and power, enhances movement efficiency and effectiveness, and increases stamina.
The program's second goal is to improve the performance capabilities of each athlete and increase the success of each team. This is accomplished through: 1) consistent, 2) sport-specific, 3) movement-based training that challenges each athlete mentally and physically.
