FACILITIES
Marshall Center
Beyond the front doors, you will find 9,000 square feet of training space on 2 levels. The main
floor includes 16- 8' Power Racks (by Hammer Strength), complete with 17,000 pounds of customized
Werkshan training plates. Each rack features a computerized Tendo unit, designed to provide immediate
feedback to athletes on power output and bar velocity. Ninety pairs (38,000 lbs) of customized Intek dumbbells
line the room... each bearing our Cardinal logo. Along the back wall, six- 25 yard lanes of Astroturf provide much
space for warm-ups, movement and core training. Also on the main floor you will find 4 Power Plates- a
scientifically proven tool which provides whole body vibration- proven to enhance a wide variety of
performance and prevention parameters, 70 medicine balls, 20 stability balls, 4 sets of customized plyometric boxes,
6 Glute-Ham Benches, 3 Dual Adjustable Pulley Systems, and 2 Keiser Runners (for testing and training lower body power).
Upstairs you will find 4 more Power Racks, more dumbbells, plates and benches. This area will allow us
to train a third team during peak times. Upstairs you will also find 25- Keiser MP3 Cycles- providing us with
a non-impact conditioning option- and 3 Wooday treadmills, one of which will feature an Imett metabolic cart
for advanced energy systems testing.
Six plasma TV's and a state-of-the-art audio system will be operational next week, and an 'Iron Cardinal' Recognition
Board and All-Time Record Board will be added soon (along with other graphic elements).
Yum! Center
The Yum! Center, which opened in August of 2007 on the University of Louisville campus, houses training facilities and offices for the Cardinals'
men's basketball, women's volleyball and women's lacrosse teams. The facility includes the basketball playing court, a theatre, an extensive
weight room, the training room, a well-lit front exterior of the building, and the main lobby entrance.
The Yum! Center also features a cardio workout room which overlooks the weight room and playing court.
