Devon Thomas returned to the University of Louisville in 2012 as Assistant Athletic Director for Development, overseeing the general direction of the annual fundraising arm of the Cardinal Athletic Fund. He previously worked with the CAF for two years in 2003-04 following his graduation from UofL.

Before re-joining the Cardinals' staff, Thomas spent the three years as the Director of Annual Giving for Gonzaga, where he facilitated the strategic planning and operation of the annual fund (Bulldog Club). He also led individual sport fundraising initiatives and had oversight of fundraising events. During his tenure with the Zags, he managed an effort that resulted in an 84 percent increase in annual dollars to Gonzaga Athletics.

Prior to his successful work at Gonzaga, Thomas served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Marketing at Central Florida, where he led the branding, marketing, and promotions efforts for UCF Athletics.

Thomas spent four years at Idaho, last serving as the Director of Marketing and Licensing. At Idaho he developed and executed strategic marketing plans for the Vandals' 16 Division I programs. During his time there, he was appointed to the NACMA Board of Directors after serving as the Western Athletic Conference representative to NACMA for two years.

Thomas was a four-year football letterman at defensive end for UofL (1999-2002), earning a bachelor's degree in communication, while helping the Cardinals earn four straight bowl appearances.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Thomas and his wife, Melanie, have two sons, Joshua and Brandon.
