Tommy Stich enters his second season as an assistant athletic trainer for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams. In his first season at U of L, the men's team finished as Big East Champions for the first time in school history while the women's team enjoyed a successful season as Big East runners-up.
Before joining the U of L sports medicine staff, Stich earned his Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Management from Louisiana State University in 2009. As a graduate assistant athletic trainer at LSU, he served as the sole athletic trainer for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams during the 2007-2008 season and the women's volleyball and women's tennis teams during the 2008-2009 season.
A graduate from Fresno State University in 2007, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training. As an athletic training student, Stich worked with nearly all sports at Fresno State, but spent most of his time with the men's basketball team under the guidance of mentor Ed Ferreira. He also served as the President of the Sports Medicine Club.
Stich is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and licensed by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure.
Tommy resides in Louisville with his wife, Cassie.
