Student-athletes gather for the annual Welcome Back Dinner
Anna Grout has recently joined the Sports Performance staff as Director of Sports Nutrition at the University of Louisville. In this role, Grout oversees the performance nutrition services for Louisville's approximately 700 student-athletes. She will provide nutrition education and counseling for both performance and health.
Prior to arriving at U of L, Grout served as Coordinator of Sports Nutrition at the University of Florida for the three years. She is a Board Certified Specialist in Sport Dietetics. She is a Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and is also a member of Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN) and a charter member of Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitian Association (CPSDA).
Anna's interest in sports nutrition started when she was a student-athlete (rowing) at Murray State University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in dietetics, nutrition & food management in 2004. She continued her formal education, receiving her master of science degree in sports nutrition from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. (2005-2007). While in Tallahassee, Grout worked at FSUs Training Table in addition to completing her Dietetic Internships.
She is a native Kentuckian, born and raised in Union, Ky., where her parents still reside.
