The University
of Louisville Women's Soccer team is participating in a Pen Pal program
with a second grade class from Indian Trail Elementary. They had their
first meeting at which they met their pen pal and got to know one another.
Our Women's Soccer student-athletes will write and receive a letter from
their pen pal each month. We are planning other activities for this school
year such as a Christmas party and an end-of-the-year get together. Thanks
to Indian Trail Elementary for your participation.
Football
This year
the Cardinal Football team participated in a program called Special Spectators.
Special Spectators is a non-profit program whose mission is to provide
a magical day of fun and freedom for all Special Spectators. Our football
team visited with kids at Kosair Children's Hospital to add a little excitement
to the lives of many young children. In return, the patients from Kosair
were invited to a University of Louisville football game. Fun was had
by all. Thanks to Special Spectators and Kosair Children's Hospital for
this wonderful opportunity.
Softball
One way the
University of Louisville gives back to the community is by volunteering
their time at the Society of St. Vincent DePaul Open-Hand Kitchen every
third Thursday and fifth Friday of every month. The Cardinal Softball
team took time out of their pre-season schedule to serve food to the hungry.
The student-athletes found this to be a very humbling experience.
