LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville dedicated its renovated Academic Athletic Services Center Monday afternoon by naming it for Olga Peers in a ceremony at the facility located in the Swain Student Activities Center.

The Olga S. Peers Academic Center for Student Athletes provides support for nearly 500 U of L student-athletes through tutoring, advisement and academic planning. Academic enrichment is offered through training in study skill, time management, academic integrity and goal setting.

"Olga has been a fixture at U of L on administrative committees and in the stands at athletic events," said U of L President Dr. John Shumaker. "Her efforts, energy and passion have helped us attain compliance with both the spirit and letter of gender equity in athletics. She has long been dedicated to the success of our athletic teams both academically and in athletic competition."

A retired Circuit Court judge, Peers has long been involved with U of L athletics and is currently a member of the U of L Athletics Association Board of Directors.
