Cardinal Stadium

Cardinal Stadium, located on the grounds of the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center, has served as the exclusive home to the University of Louisville baseball team since the 1998 season.

The stadium, which served as the home football field for the Cardinals from 1957-1997 and was the site of the 1994 Metro Conference Baseball Tournament, has an Astroturf playing surface, a computerized scoreboard, lighting and modern chairback seating. As set up for football, Cardinal Stadium holds 37,500 people. The baseball configuration is closer to 20,000.

Inside the adjacent athletic complex are newly remodeled offices used by the coaching staffs for baseball, men's and women's golf, field hockey and rowing. A weight room, training room and a computer lab for five Cardinal athletic teams, as well as indoor batting cages for baseball and a major league caliber clubhouse. A new batting cage facility, complete with pitching mounds, has been completed under the seats of the stadium.

During the summer of 2000, new artificial turf was installed.
