LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville's move to the BIG EAST Conference this season will be celebrated at the 2005 Greater Louisville Convention and Visitor's Bureau Annual Meeting and Awards on Thursday, Sept. 8 at the Cascade Ballroom of the Kentucky International Convention Center.

The meeting will salute the performance of U of L Athletics' programs and the Cardinals' historic move to the new league. In addition, the Bureau will feature the Recognition of Service Excellence (ROSE) Awards, given to exemplary individuals in the hospitality industry in the areas of attractions, accomodations, restaurants and transportation.

Tom Jurich, Vice President for Athletics at U of L, will be honored with the Dan Mangeot Memorial Award. It is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the advancement of tourism and has a history of supporting the hospitality industry throughout his/her professional lifetime.
