LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three University of Louisville athletic teams are among the nation's top 80th-90th percentile within their sport in the most recent multiyear Academic Progress Rate (APR) data released Wednesday by the NCAA.

U of L's men's basketball, women's softball and men's indoor track teams are among the top 20 percent in their respective sports in the 2007-08 APR, which measures academic eligibility, retention and graduation for student-athletes. Both softball and men's indoor track earlier received public recognition awards by the NCAA. A record 10 Cardinal basketball players were named to the U of L Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the fall semester, signifying a 3.0 or better grade point average.

All 23 Cardinals sports teams -- including 10 men's and 13 women's sports -- are above the 925 level, in which teams below that figure are subject to penalties.
