UofL to Stage Celebration for Basketball Teams on Wednesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville Athletic Department will stage a celebration event on Wednesday, April 10, for its men's and women's basketball teams at the KFC Yum! Center at 5 p.m. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m.
UofL season ticket holders will have the opportunity to pick up free tickets to the event from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Athletic Ticket Office, located near Gate 2 of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Season ticket holders should bring their Cardinal Athletic Fund number, which they will receive in an email Tuesday night. After 2 p.m., based on availability, remaining seats may be picked up on a first come, first served basis at the KFC Yum! Center box office.
Louisville's men's basketball team won its third NCAA national championship in school history on Monday, defeating Michigan 82-76 on Monday in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Luke Hancock tied a season high with 22 points, knocking down five 3-pointers, and was the recipient of the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. Peyton Siva had 18 points, and Chane Behanan totaled a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Louisville outrebounded Michigan, 32-27, and the Cardinals grabbed 15 offensive rebounds.
The women's team faces Connecticut on Tuesday night in the NCAA national championship at New Orleans Arena in New Orleans. Louisville is playing in its first national title game since 2009. In this year's tournament, Louisville has knocked out nationally ranked Baylor, Tennessee and Cal.
